What Sweetener Do I Add To Chocolate ?

Let’s firstly establish that the best eating Chocolate are the Beans and Nibs themselves……Alone.

However, if you prefer a sweeter taste of Chocolate, here as some healthier suggestions which range in important nutritional values as well as low to high glycemic index.

To the left bottom is C grade Maple       Syrup (med GI), clockwise, Agave (low GI) from the Cactus Plant, Local grade 16 Bush Honey (high GI), Coconut Sugar (low GI).                                         To the Right bottom, Evapourated Cane Juice (high GI), clockwise, Rapadura (high GI), Xylitol (low GI), Stevia Herb (low GI). Only use this one in minute amounts as it is 200 times more sweet than sugar.

 

 

To the Right on the spoon is Yacon Syrup which is (low GI), from a root vegetable, below.
